Tesa Open Day 2023

Today at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, organized by the Department of Graphic Engineering and Design, two great lectures were held as part of the tesa Open Day event. Students and employees of the Department of Graphic Engineering and Design enjoyed in very interesting, interactive, and above all educational lectures given by Chunjing Zhao (tesa SE, DVS® / EWF European Adhesive Specialist, Application Solution Engineer, Customer Solution Center Europe) and Metin Ozsobaci (tesa SE, Business Development Manager - Twinlock).

The lectures, held in English, dealt with topics in the field of flexo printing and technical characteristics of self-adhesive tapes:

Chunjing Zhao // Technical introduction about tape - What is pressure sensitive tape (PSA) / Tape structure / Adhesive types / Backing types / Others (primer and release layer) / Influence parameters on tape performance;

Metin Ozsobaci // Flexo printing 101 / Plate mounting foam or filmic tapes / Self-adhesive printing sleeves - Twinlock / Hands-on plate mounting session with actual sleeves and tapes.

Students of bachelor and master studies very much enjoyed in the communication they had with the lecturers during their presentations. At the end, they had the opportunity to try themselves in the manual mounting of the flexo printing plates. Their engagement in the topics, practical demonstrations, and samples they had the opportunity to see, was reflected also through active discussion they have during and after the presentations.

We warmly thank our lecturers, Chunjing Zhao and Metin Ozsobaci, as well as Dragan Šarčević (tesa, KAM Flexo Print and Paper South East Europe), who, together with the director of the Department of Graphic Engineering and Design, professor Nemanja Kašiković, initiated this event and enabled its realization. We are very much looking forward to the planned future cooperation and we invite you to if you were not able to attend this time, definitely do so at the next tesa Open day.
